S t. John's Regional Medical Center, a 367-bed hospital offering comprehensive tertiary acute care services in Joplin, MO, is pursuing innovative approaches in order to create healthier communities throughout its service area, with a focus on enhancing the well-being of the area's older residents. One approach involves increasing the availability of affordable high-quality housing that also offers support services designed to meet the special needs of the low-income elderly.
